We are an Indonesian Church in Christchurch, NZ
It began with a casual conversation between Nina Bun and Ps Yopie Mantiri from IFGF Sydney in a Sunday service at IFGF Auckland in the beginning of 2013. Nina who was from Christchurch mentioned that she hoped that there would be an Indonesian services in Christchurch. Ps Yopie responded her seriously by visiting Christchurch several days after the service. Then Nina invited some friends to host Ps Yopie in Christchurch. Together to went around Christchurch and prayed for the city. Ps Yopie promised to follow up his visit to Christchurch.
In the following month, Ps Gerald from IFGF Auckland came to Christchurch. Nina and friends came to meet him and together they started the first fellowship in Christchurch, called i-Care. Ps Gerald then set up a schedule for the monthly i-care for the whole year. Then i-Care continued monthly and were served by various pastors and ministers from IFGF Auckland, Wellington, Sydeny and Melbourne. This had happened under the coordination of Nina and Ps Gerald from 2013 to 2015.
In October 2015, Hendry who was one of the ministers in IFGF Wellington moved down to Christchurch. He and his family then were asked by the leaders in i-Care Christchurch as well as Ps Gerald to continue the leadership. The mission was to build an Indonesian church in Christchurch, called IFGF Christchurch. The monthly fellowship then moved to fortnightly i-Care in November 2015. In April 2016 we started the first weekly Sunday service at 4pm. IFGF Christchurch had a Church Opening on 5 June 2016.
We are called to fulfill the Great Commission, not only to let people know about God and the eternal salvation, but touching hearts, improving lives, and creating second chances. We are here for the people, as a humble servant and wise counsel. We focus on the people, creating impact and changing them for the better.
People is our mission: connect with God, make disciples
DNA & Values
Every organization has a core that dictates the direction of its development and functioning.
At IFGF, we call it our DNA which is the reflection of our core values.
Through his son Jesus Christ, God has made an everlasting covenant with his church. Therefore, we are compelled to be committed to one another – as partners together to forge authentic relationships that are ever expanding and prospering under the apostolic leadership.
Not only has God reconciled us back into right relationship with him, but he has also given us the amazing privilege to partner with him as he draws all people to himself. As Christ’s ambassadors we live to be a witness on earth by setting an example through our lifestyle. We are raising up a generation of believers, cultivating potentials, and improving the lives of all people through the power of the gospel.
We love because Christ first loved us. We express this love together by serving our community with love, grace and generosity – becoming a channel of blessing to one another.
Through the power of his grace and Holy Spirit, God has enabled us to be a progressive church that is relevant in ministry, engaged with society, and innovative in function. We invest in training apprentices to become next generation leaders for our church and community.
Over the years it has become our sincere conviction that in Christ we are victorious. Since the beginning of creation, God has empowered us to havedominion over the earth. He has given us the power to impact the lives of others and be an agent of hope and purpose.
IFGF Christchurch is part of the IFGF.
